Mission DNA 2
Abstract
El Paso County Colorado School District 49 serves 24.1percent military connected students attached to 9 military installations. We are committed to closing student achievement gaps and enhancing the performance of military connected students in mathematics. To achieve this, we will prioritize professional learning for teachers in grades 3 to 12. Building on the success of Mission DNA at the elementary level, we will introduce Mission DNA 2.0. This grant will extend our current efforts with elementary teachers to the secondary level, fostering a collective teacher efficacy for a mathematics growth mindset. We will focus on enhancing teachers content knowledge and vertical alignment of the Colorado Academic Standards to improve student understanding. Our goal is to support students throughout their mathematical education in our schools, spanning grades 3 to 12 in our 12 district operated elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 4 high schools, and 1 charter school 3 to 12.
