Lifelong Learners Global Scholars Extending the Reach of IB Education to All Groton Students

Abstract

Groton’s Fitch High School (FHS) is one of only three high schools in Connecticut to offer the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). With support from DoDEA, Groton Public Schools (GPS) will enhance and expand the IB Program across all grade levels. The IB Organization offers a high quality instructional program with the mission of creating a better world through education by supporting all students to become lifelong learners and internationally minded young scholars. Over the course of this project, at least 200 Groton teachers and school leaders will receive professional learning in the IB Program. By doing so, we aim to increase rigor and relevance in the curriculum, improve academic achievement across all content areas, and foster a community of inclusivity and excellence for all Groton students.
