K12 Integrated Pathways Nurturing Literacy Math Mastery and STEM Fluency

Abstract

The Plato R5 School District s K to 12 Integrated Pathways, Nurturing Literacy, Math Mastery and STEM Fluency addresses an approach to increase reading skills and mathematics competencies while expanding STEM and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) initiatives from our previous DODEA Grant. This program emphasizes foundational skills like phonics, vocabulary development, and comprehension. Through targeted interventions and differentiated instruction, educators will cultivate a strong literacy base among all learners, ensuring reading proficiency. Transitioning to secondary math, the focus shifts toward fostering proficiency and problem solving abilities. The curriculum will emphasize conceptual understanding, reasoning, and application across real world scenarios. By engaging students in rigorous tasks, educators aim to develop critical thinking skills essential for success in higher education and the workforce.
