Enroll Enlist Employ to Excellence
Abstract
Enroll, Enlist, Employ to Excellence (E4) is a comprehensive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) program designed to empower and enrich students in grades 5 to 12 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The program acknowledges the unique context of the community and meets the needs of military connected students. Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is home to a Naval community with 18 percent of middle school and 11percent of high school students who are military connected. As one of three public school districts available to families, E4 aims to create an educational haven that recognizes and addresses the challenges faced by these students. By cultivating collaboration between the school district, military connected families, and the broader community, E4 enhances educational opportunities and support systems. The program will not only provide exposure to diverse STEAM related careers but actively involve parents and community members, keeping them informed and engaged in the decision making processes. Emphasizing holistic development, E4 will incorporate creative arts, critical thinking skills, and problem solving into the curriculum, ensuring students are well prepared for future success.
