Aberdeen Proving Ground (JLUS)

Abstract

As the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) nears finalization, it is apparent—both based on current engagement with the APG JLUS region and the pending recommendations—that a key to the success of the future effort to carry out recommendations from the JLUS will be effective engagement with the large region that comprises the JLUS study area. Although the Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor s current website acts as a hub for that engagement, it redesign is needed now. Enhanced functionality for the website to be provided by this redesign will not only allow its use as an internet portal to encourage, enhance, and amplify the communication and coordination among regional stakeholders and the military installation, it will result in a marked reduction in the monthly costs borne by Harford County to maintain the website. In summary, OEA authorization/supplemental funding is requested for the following: Supplemental funding from OEA in the amount of $25,408 (federal); Authorization to add a scope element (Website redesign) as well as additional funding for travel to summer 2015 defense community meetings in Washington, DC; Extension of five months to the Joint Land Use Study period, to now end November 30, 2015, rather than June 30, 2015.
