Fort Riley ES Schools (SP)

Abstract

The current Fort Riley Elementary School located on Fort Riley is functionally inadequate and in poor condition. In fact, a DOD report ranked Fort Riley Elementary School #20 on the Public Schools on Military Installations Priority List due to its condition and capacity. The current elementary school needs to be replaced in order to address the identified deficiencies. Due to recent, additional housing and population growth on the installation, capacity has gone from green to yellow. Geary County USD 475 has no bonding capacity or other funding sources available with which to construct a new elementary school. Without a grant, the district will be unable to provide an adequate elementary school facility to serve the military students on Fort Riley.
