Commonwealth of Virginia (DIA)
Abstract
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking additional funding for assistance of entrepreneurs to the current OEA grant, Commonwealth of Virginia (DIA), RA0690-14-05. Additionally, we request the effective date of this request be February 1, 2015 and that any expense incurred or invoice paid after that date be allowed. In order to support an entrepreneur center in Alexandria, Virginia, we request supplemental funding in the amount of $261,056 and be authorized to reprogram $150,000 from the Domestic Markets Expansion Program. This funding will allow for the continued effort the Commonwealth has undertaken with the regional work being done with the Northern Virginia Transition Center to address displaced defense contractors by providing entrepreneurship opportunities. As stated in the original grant application “The Commonwealth will continue to work with the Northern Virginia Region on a proposed workers transition pilot program which will include a website used by each area to promote and provide career transition services for impacted defense contractors and federal worker.”
