State of Oklahoma

Abstract

In August 2014, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) proposed a comprehensive, three phase project to provide critical data and strategic initiatives for the State of Oklahoma, as well as the supply chain that supports the Department of Defense (DOD) for new and existing business. The project, titled “Oklahoma and the Department of Defense: Impacts on the State’s Economy and Workforce”(ISEW) is in the progress of conducting a comprehensive data collection and analysis of defense spending, as well as the potential impacts related to any base-realignment, reduction-in-force, or any other reduction in DOD funding in the state of Oklahoma. In addition, Phase I of the ISEW project is implementing a public web portal with modeling and forecasting capabilities designed to facilitate regional workforce and economic development planning, programs and initiatives.
