State of New Hampshire

Abstract

This knowledge of how best to support New Hampshire’s aerospace and defense industries for less dependence on Defense spending levels, increased diversification of products, and better international positioning forms the core of this request for grant funding from the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA). OEA, under 10 U.S.C. 2391, Section 5, with a mission of supporting state and local governments to respond to major defense program changes, is the perfect partner for the OIC and NHADEC to collaborate with to meet NHADEC’s goals. As the State of New Hampshire does not have the financial resources required to continue the evolution of the consortium, OEA’s support will be vital to the successful implementation of the long-term strategy that can help NH aerospace and defense businesses continue their momentum through the building of capacity, diversification and commercialization of products and increase of exports. Ultimately, funds requested through this grant will be used to enhance the capacity of the State of New Hampshire, and its businesses, workers, industries, and communities to respond to Defense related activities and continue relative economic growth.
