Walter Reed NMMC, Bethesda

Abstract

This eighth OEA grant will enable Montgomery County to maintain consistency in coordination and build on initiatives of the past years to address, and mitigate where possible, significant adverse community impacts resulting from DOD actions mandated by the 2005 BRAC law. BRAC-related transportation projects at NSAB and WRNMMC will have ongoing impacts to the community – including the installations themselves – and will require coordination among numerous federal, state, and local stakeholders. Successful implementation of the MD 355 MultiModal Crossing Project at WRNMMC will require careful management of a complex $68.174 million grant. Finally, successful implementation of all the projects described in this grant request will require continual liaison with numerous communities and Federal, state, and local agencies.
