Abstract
Travis Unified School District received a Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment grant for $13,792,851 to undertake planning, design, and construction activities at the Scandia Elementary School on Travis Air Force Base, California. The scope of work provides for renovation, modernization, and expansion of the Scandia Elementary School to address capacity and facility condition deficiencies, as determined by the July 2011 Deputy Secretary of Defense “Public Schools on Military Installations Priority List.” The school supports an enrollment of over 500 students; kindergarten thru sixth grade. The Renovation, Modernization, and Expansion project will be undertaken on the existing Scandia Elementary School campus and staged to allow the existing school to remain open during construction. The project scope includes pre-construction (planning and design) and construction activities with a target completion date of summer 2018.
