Abstract

Public Schools on Military Installations Program - $40.7 million grant awarded to the Clover Park School District (CPSD), Joint Base Lewis McChord, Lakewood, Washington received a $40,699,658 Federal grant matched by $10,174,915 in non-Federal funds from the State of Washington, to manage a $50,874,573 project to replace the existing Evergreen Elementary School with a new 761-student elementary school serving grades Pre-K-5. This award will remedy capacity and facility condition deficiencies that placed Evergreen Elementary School as the twenty ninth school on the July 2011 Deputy Secretary of Defense Priority List. CPSD currently leases land from the Army for the Evergreen Elementary, and will own, operate, and maintain the newly constructed school. CPSD will conclude construction in August 2016; students are expected to move in during the first week of September 2016; and a grand opening date is to be determined.
