Fort Benning (Force Reduction)
Abstract
The purpose of this grant is to enable to Valley Partnership Joint Development Authority (VPJDA), in collaboration with municipalities in the States of Georgia and Alabama, to complete a comprehensive regional assessment of the potential impacts associated with the recent Army announcement to reduce the number of personnel at Fort Benning, Georgia. The assessment will identify possible impacts in the areas of housing, schools, economic development, and education. This assessment will lead to the development of recommendations for mitigating community impacts.
