Fort McPherson
Abstract
The purpose of this final grant request is to obtain financial assistance in support of the ongoing community base redevelopment activities at the former Fort McPherson, Atlanta, GA, which formally closed in September, 2011. Funds provided by OEA will supplement the annual operations budget of the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority (MILRA) for its fiscal period July, 2015 to June, 2016. Primary goals and objectives for this fiscal year include: (1) Execution of Phase 2 property conveyance to MILRA – 39.5acres (Feb, 2016); (2) Review recommendations of Urban Land Institute (ULI) Technical Assistance - Panel feedback; (3) Completion of Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) study (March 2015); (4) Complete all outstanding annual audits. MILRA along with its vested stakeholders and consultants will work diligently to facilitate the expedited conveyance of Phase 2 properties in addition to successful completion and implementation of recommendations of the ULI and LCI studies.
