State of Wisconsin (DIA)

Abstract

On behalf of the State of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is seeking funding from the Department of Defense (DOD) for two initiatives intended to help the state accomplish the following objectives: 1. Lessen Wisconsin defense firm dependence on DOD procurement and contracting by increasing individual firm resiliency through a focus on business process improvement; and 2. Enable more effective assistance to small- and medium-sized defense manufacturers both at the state-level and by Wisconsin jurisdictions through the development of a supply chain playbook. Efforts on these objectives will both complement existing work underway in the Interstate 41 Corridor (i.e., the Oshkosh Region) and will have a statewide focus, benefitting jurisdictions and firms across Wisconsin that may be struggling with defense downsizing.
