Abstract
As part of a broader statewide effort, the University of Illinois (U of I) is seeking Economic Adjustment Assistance under CFDA 12.617 to enhance its capacity to assist in-state communities, businesses, and dislocated workers throughout Illinois that have been or may be affected by changes in Department of Defense (DOD) spending. U of I has identified three key communities in the State of Illinois, each adjacent to major military installations, which currently are in various stages of understanding their defense footprint. These communities, through locally driven planning efforts, are taking active steps to promote resiliency of their local industrial bases.
