Fort Riley (Force Reduction)
Abstract
The Flint Hills Regional Council (FHRC), which represents the municipalities and counties surrounding Fort Riley, seeks to identify and understand the community economic impacts associated with the announced personnel reductions at Fort Riley, and to prepare an organized response to these impacts. The primary goal of this initial phase is to adequately understand the potential economic impact to the region associated with these personnel reductions. This will be accomplished by conducting an assessment of the direct and ancillary impacts to all critical elements of the social and economic fabric of the region. As a result of this effort, the FHRC will produce a Regional Community Economic Impact Analysis.
