Abstract
Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas (Board) is seeking financial assistance, in the form of a Defense Industry Adjustment grant, to execute the strategies and actions outlined in the ?Regional Talent Retention and Economic Growth Strategy? report and the recommendations in the ?Strategic Implementation Plan?. The strategic goals and recommendations focus on RRAD workforce retention and increasing the economic viability of the region. The project goals include, strengthening support for economic diversification efforts, enhance business expansion/recruitment plans, and explore the feasibility of a regional economic development organization. The Board will use a competitive procurement process to contract with a Local Project Coordinator and Convener. The Local Project Coordinator and Convener will be responsible for all coordination, collaboration, and management of the strategic action items. The strategic action items include a regional economic development organization feasibility study, a stakeholder network map and communication plan, a vertical market assessment, and a workforce needs analysis. The stakeholder network map and communication plan will increase regional support for the product as well as provide a target audience for the feasibility study. The vertical market assessment and workforce needs analysis will clearly define regional assets and create a strong foundation for business expansion/recruitment efforts. Each strategic action will be an important piece to the overall goal of long term economic success for the region.
