Guam Civilian Water and Wastewater Improvements - NDWWTP

Abstract

Impacts to the GWA?s potable water and wastewater systems from the proposed military relocation discussed in the SEIS were reviewed and a list of projects to mitigate those impacts was prepared. Those potential projects necessary to support the relocation of Marine Corps forces to Guam were screened against the EAC criterion according to the EAC Implementation Plan 2015. The projects deemed qualified are the three Guam civilian water and wastewater projects, which were found to be necessary due to impacts from the proposed relocation of Marine Corps forces to Guam. This grant consists of engineering design and construction for the upgrade of the Northern District Wastewater Treatment Plant (NDWWTP), installation of outfall diffuser, and project/construction management services to meet the secondary limits required to comply with current National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and to mitigate impacts to wastewater utilities, nearshore waters, and marine biological resources. The NDWWTP treats raw sewage from the villages of Yigo, Dededo, Tumon, as well as AAFB and the Finegayan Installation. See Attachment A for a location map.
