Abstract
The LRA is requesting financial assistance from OEA for the 2017-2018 period to support the LRA on the implementation of its strategic plan and to continue its redevelopment efforts and provide continuity for the projects developed during the 2016-2017 Grant period. Also, to develop specific projects that are consistent with the 2014 Development Zones Master Plan by (i) Continuing direct negotiations with private developers with the ability to advance the business objectives of the LRA; (ii) Creating partnerships that will continue to support the redevelopment of RR and transcend government administrations; and by (iii) Upgrading the infrastructure system through other federal programs and private partnerships to allow the continuation of current operations and set the groundwork for the redevelopment, further enhancing the attributes and the value of this redevelopment project to private investors. Upgrades to infrastructure systems are critical and represent the foundation for the RR?s economic development and prosperity. Considering the previous contracts and the new potential agreements for redevelopment, the LRA-RR will lead to approximately the creation of a minimum of 160 new jobs for the development for the following two and a half years.
