Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Training Complex

Abstract

In response to the current Department of Defense basing actions proposed for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and recent progress on the United States Air Force Divert Activities and Exercises Initiative, sustainment of the Civil Military Liaison Office is warranted. The Civil Military Liaison Office, within the Office of the Governor, will: enhance the role of the Office of the Governor as the single point of contact for all Federal actions associated with the Department of Defense programs; ensure the Commonwealth s equities are represented; enable the Governor to make informed decisions on behalf of the Commonwealth; enhance communications with DoD; and enhance community outreach and awareness.
