State of New York- SPG Supply Chain Resiliency

Abstract

The State of New York (via Empire State Development), intends to support the Defense industrial base in New York through recruitment, education, and technical assistance for contractors and subcontractors in achieving compliance with defense cybersecurity control requirements. Empire State Development’s Division of Science Technology and Innovation will conduct a series of workshops across the State to provide education and identify small and medium-sized defense dependent companies needing assistance. The Empire State Development team will conduct assessments and gap reports and complete system security plans for select qualifying companies. This grant will benefit Department of Defense by providing assistance to small and medium size companies within the existing Defense supply chain. Many of these companies are at risk of not meeting the current Defense standards and they need assistance to continue to work as Defense contractors. This project will facilitate economic diversification for defense contractors and build a more resilient supply chain for Department of Defense, while contributing to a more robust local economy.
