Fort Drum (Compatible Use)

Abstract

In 2016, the Development Authority of the North Country received funding from the Office of Economic Adjustment to complete a Joint Land Use Study project on behalf of Fort Drum, NY and its surrounding communities. The biggest encroachment threats identified through this JLUS were to radar, airspace, safety, and noise. In order to carry-out recommended strategies within the JLUS, the Development Authority of the North Country is requesting implementation funding from the Office of Economic Adjustment. The Development Authority of the North Country is committed to working with communities and Fort Drum to enhance communication and to promote sound land use planning to reduce encroachment and compatibility issues surrounding Fort Drum.
