State of Texas (Compatible Use)
Abstract
NRI seeks to work collaboratively with military and energy industry leaders in Texas to help de-conflict the siting of energy projects with DoD’s test, training, and military operations. Commercial development of energy projects may affect unique DoD activities and military readiness, especially when located near installations, ranges, or on lands beneath designated military training routes or special use airspace. Working with the State and the military, NRI will also identify top land use challenges and associated drivers impacting the military both currently and into the future. Through the development of TxMAP, the state will help provide military planners and leaders access to an extensive geospatial information at higher resolution than is currently available.
