Selfridge ANGB - CU

Abstract

The Selfridge Sustainability Study (S3) is a community?driven and cooperative strategic planning process involving Selfridge Air National Guard Base (Selfridge ANGB), Macomb County and its communities that surround the military installation (Chesterfield Township, Harrison Township, Macomb Township, Clinton Township, Mount Clemens, St. Clair Shores, Fraser, Roseville, and New Baltimore), and the State of Michigan. This effort seeks to promote community planning, environmental protection, and economic development in a manner that is compatible with military training, testing, and operational missions - and seeks to develop recommendations that minimize the civilian impacts on the installation and the mission. With funding provided to the partnership by way of the OEA, this 18 month project will produce a final report that will be available to the public and is accompanied with a good-faith commitment from local and military leadership to implement the recommendations from the report in order to achieve a more sustainable environment that is both supportive of the community and Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
