Monterey Regional Compatible Use Plan
Abstract
In partnership with Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties, Pacific Grove and the military installations of Presidio of Monterey, Naval Support Activity Monterey, Fort Hunter Liggett and Camp Roberts, the City of Monterey, California requests Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) technical and financial assistance in order to complete a Compatible Use Plan (CUP) for the Monterey Region. This effort will support the National Defense Strategy by enhancing regional civilian partnerships with the installations as we seek to develop reasonable and consistent strategies to support compatible land use that mitigates and/or prevents encroachment on the installations and their missions. The CUP will serve to protect and preserve the installations operational capabilities and support continued growth and economic development of neighboring communities.
