State of Wisconsin Phase 2

Abstract

Funding under this grant will be used to support the defense supply chain in Wisconsin through the recruitment, education and technical assistance for defense suppliers (contractors and subcontractors) in achieving compliance with DFARS 252-204-7012 and NIST 800-171 security control requirements. The University of Wisconsin Whitewater Cyber Security Center for Small Business (UWW-CSCSB) will conduct a series of workshops across the state to provide education and identify small and medium size defense dependent companies needing cybersecurity assistance. The UWW-CSCSB team will conduct assessments and gap reports and complete system security plans for select qualifying companies. This grant will also benefit DOD by providing assistance to small and medium size companies within defense supply chain so that they may continue to provide parts and services to the Department. At project inception, many of these companies are at risk of not meeting the DFARS 252-204-7012 and NIST 800-171 cybersecurity standards. This intent of work under this grant is to ensure a more resilient supply chain in the defense manufacturing sector for the Department of Defense while also increasing economic activity in this sector for the citizens of Wisconsin.
