Robins AFB - CU
Abstract
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission (MGRC), acting as a representative for the host communities of Robins Air Force Base (RAFB) submits this application for funding under the Department of Defense Compatible Use Program. The most recent joint plan for compatible land use was developed in 2004. Significant progress in implementing this plan, combined with significant changes in the local communities and at RAFB has rendered the community with an outdated document that provides less guidance than is necessary. The proposal plan to update the 2004 Joint Land Use Study will be the Middle Georgia-Robins Air Force Base Sustainability Plan. This document will set forth a plan for enhancing and sustaining the mission readiness of RAFB and the surrounding community by focusing on seven key areas of study: 1) Land use; 2) Transportation; 3) Airspace; 4) Infrastructure; 5) Security; 6) Economic and Community Development; and 7) Environment and Cultural Resources. The MG-RAFB Sustainability Plan will be the primary deliverable of this grant. Planning work will be subcontracted out using a competitive bid process. The Middle Georgia Regional Commission will receive and administer this grant on behalf of the four counties and seven cities primarily impacted by RAFB.
