Detroit Arsenal - MIR

Abstract

The Detroit Arsenal Regional Defense Assessment of Resilience (DAR2) is a comprehensive installation resilience analysis involving the Detroit Arsenal, Macomb County and other related stakeholders/providers. This effort seeks to better understand the installations environmental and energy resilience vulnerabilities including the installations shared common electric service provider, electric power plant, natural gas provider, distribution networks and water sources. There is a concentration of significant activities located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area critical to the Department of Defense. Disruption of these utilities to these DOD assets would severely impact the industries and would ultimately have a significant impact on the nation. With funding provided to the partnership by way of the OEA, this 18 month project will produce a final report that will assist in better understanding threats to the regions energy supply and ultimately guide DOD related installations in the area on what must be planned for in order to build resilience to those threats.
