Fort Huachuca - Emergency Medical Services Substation

Abstract

The Grant enables the City of Sierra Vista, Arizona to construct a new Emergency Medical Services substation, which reduces critical emergency medical response times, which directly contributes to enhancing the quality of life to the local community and to Fort Huachuca. Fort Huachuca Fiscal Year 2020 consists of 2,807 permanent party personnel, 3,335 temporary duty soldiers and students in barracks, 2,607 Army Civilians on post during working hour, 2,876 civilian contractors on post during working hours, 1,786 other civilians, and 5,847 active duty dependents. In 2020, approximately sixty-one percent (61%) of the active duty soldiers stationed at Fort Huachuca live off-post in the City of Sierra Vista. Construction of the Emergency Medical Services Substation addresses the Tier I Military Quality of Life factor, outlined in the Office of Economic Adjustment Defense Community Infrastructure Pilot Project Final Federal Funding Opportunity.
