Fort Polk - Campus Connections Learning Space

Abstract

The Grant enables Louisiana Economic Development, in partnership with Vernon Parish School Board, to construct the Campus Connections and Learning Spaces consisting of new educational facilities, security technology, parking areas and green hardscape in close proximity to Fort Polk. Fort Polk has 2,043 children enrolled in the Vernon Parish Schools. Without a DODEA school on post, 100% of the military school aged children whose families who reside on post will benefit from these educational facilities. This education complex addresses the Tier I Military Quality of Life factor outlined in the Office of Economic Adjustment Defense Community Infrastructure Pilot Program Federal Funding Opportunity, and provides a much needed educational learning environment for service members and their families.
