The number, type, and variety of Department of Defense initiatives underscore Guam?s strategic, operational, and tactical value to Department of Defense and to the Nation; especially in regards to the Nation?s security. The viability of the Port of Guam is paramount to sustaining the military s operational effectiveness and mission readiness and resiliency in the Western Pacific Theater, in an ever evolving, dynamic, and challenging geopolitical environment.
