NSB Kings Bay - Housing Market Analysis
Abstract
The City of St. Marys will complete a housing study in order to ensure the local community can continue to support NSB Kings Bay as it has over the last forty years. The housing study will help do the following: evaluate the current market and demographics, make projections for future growth and market needs, and offer recommendations to the city for policies and ordinances that can support housing the installation?s personnel, employees, and contractors. Increasing affordable housing options for NSB Kings Bay and the region was recommended in the 2014 NSB Kings Bay Joint Land Use Study. The housing market analysis and all activities undertaken under this award are designed to ensure and sustain the ongoing operations and mission of the installation. As a result of the housing market analysis, any planned permanent or rental housing development will be compatible with NSB Kings Bay and help prevent encroachment on the installation.
