Pinal County Compatible Use Implementation
Abstract
The Pinal County Compatible Use Plan (formerly Joint Land Use Study) completed in 2020 identified strategies relating to military installations and encroachment of the surrounding land use. Pinal County, with the help of a consultant, is implementing the strategies identified in the Pinal County plan. These strategies are: incorporating regulatory language in the county?s Comprehensive Plan, gaining stakeholder input, providing educational materials, and completing an Economic Impact Study of the military installations and the surrounding areas. The developed regulatory language is leading to changes in the county ordinances regarding areas near military installations.
