Tyndall AFB CU Implementation
Abstract
In April of 2021, Bay County, Florida and Tyndall Air Force Base (TAFB) adopted a Compatible Use Plan (CUP) with recommended implementation items to foster, protect, and enhance military installation sustainability. Bay County (acting as the sponsor) will coordinate with stakeholders and lead this implementation project. The contracted effort includes the creations of Military Influence Areas and Military Influence Overlay Districts, updates to comprehensive plans and land development regulations, analysis and planning for compatible growth, and protections for the Gulf Range Microwave Tower Corridor line-of-sight supporting mission operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
