Guam Public Health Laboratory Construction

Abstract

The Department of the Navy 2015 Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (2015 SEIS) for the Guam and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Military Relocation identified that the implementation of the preferred alternative would result in adverse effects to public health and safety. The grant enables the Office of the Governor to oversee the planning, programming, design, construction, equipping, and commissioning of a Guam Public Health Laboratory, with Biosafety Level 2/3 analytical testing capability, which is responsive to and complies with the August 2015 Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision. The grant constructs and commissions a new Guam Public Health Laboratory that mitigates the adverse effects to public health and safety, from the implementation of 2015 SEIS preferred alternative.
