State of Tennessee - Diversification

Abstract

Given the high concentration of defense-related companies in counties across the state, the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services and the Tennessee Manufacturing Extension Partnership are offering diversification services to update and modernize small and medium-sized defense firms to ensure they will be responsive to future Department of Defense requirements. The project focuses on assisting defense firms in attaining cybersecurity compliance to DoD standards. The Tennessee Manufacturing Extension Partnership will engage 250 small and mid-sized defense firms, align them with the resources to assess compliance and provide technical assistance to at least 8 companies to mitigate any noted compliance gaps. They will also leverage this project to engage companies in conversations about how they could further modernize and diversify their business lines.
