Mountain Home AFB - Installation Resilience

Abstract

This project addresses water scarcity and focuses on evaluating alternatives to recharge the aquifer, reduce groundwater pumping, and ensure a reliable water supply is available to the local community and Mountain Home Air Force Base. The project evaluates wastewater treatment as a strategy for aquifer recharge and provides modeling of the aquifer adjacent to the installation. By addressing the declining aquifer and regional water supply, the project supports the local community s efforts to construct additional housing and increase water reliability in order to better ensure the resiliency of Mountain Home Air Force Base.
