New England Regional Defense Sector Modernization
Abstract
The State of Vermont continues to work within the New England region to respond to the needs of the defense industrial base by stimulating cooperation between statewide and local initiatives so that diversification and modernization efforts can maintain the capabilities in the defense supply chain. The grantee will continue to address the critical needs in the defense supply chain and establish relationships with new stakeholders to address deficiencies in workforce development and Industry 4.0 technology. The grantee will develop a communication plan to address outreach to increase feedback loops and impact within the ecosystem. The grantee will introduce a regional workforce program to address the challenges in creating a unified regional training and career pathway in advanced manufacturing. Last, the grantee will continue to increase awareness of Industry 4.0 technologies and explore the barriers and solutions for SMEs to adopt the technologies.
