JB Andrews - Installation Resilience

Abstract

Prince George s County is conducting an Installation Resilience Review (IRR) for Joint Base Andrews (JBA) with a focus on enhancing existing partnerships and supporting a collaborative effort to safeguard and improve key transportation infrastructure utilized for emergency response, personnel access, and mission movements. The effort includes analysis factoring in climate resilience such as flood risk from an increase in weather with heavy rainfall. The study will model the ability of natural and built infrastructure to respond to events and include recommended priorities to reduce risk over time with climate resilience enhancement projects and management practices. The goal is to minimize risk to the military installation or essential transportation, logistical, or necessary resources outside of the military installation that are necessary to maintain, improve, or rapidly reestablish installation mission assurance and mission-essential functions.
