State of Texas CU - Phase III

Abstract

NRI will assess current and future land use challenges and associated drivers affecting Texas installations and their assets. This assessment will focus on two categories of existing and planned development across the state – energy grid infrastructure and local community development – to help avoid incompatible development in important military test and training areas. NRI will engage stakeholders, review relevant literature and documentation, and perform geospatial analysis and modelling to build lines of communication, develop reports and education materials, and create mapping products to address these two issues. This project will assist state, local, and private entities to identify and avoid the negative impacts of incompatible development on DoD readiness and capabilities while supporting continued economic development and promoting coordination among the DoD, the state of Texas, and local defense communities.
