MCB Quantico/JBMHH/Ft Belvoir - Grant 2

Abstract

The Northern Virginia Regional Commission Military Installation Resilience Review implementation grant will advance regional strategies to assist Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Fort Belvoir, and Marine Corps Base Quantico and the surrounding communities with preparing for or mitigating threats in the region. Building off the Military Installation Resilience Review , the Northern Virginia Regional Commission proposes to develop plans, policies, and technical analysis that will assist the communities and installations for preparing for vulnerabilities and maintaining mission readiness. Topics to be addressed include inland flooding, coastal flooding, heat, emergency management, regional connectivity and access, and land use and development compatibility. The result will be a series of plans, policies, and technical documents that inform future infrastructure projects and also the establishment of a formal mechanism to support and track Military Installation Resilience Review strategies.
