Abstract

The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) proposes to raise awareness and de-risk the adoption of these Smart Manufacturing Technologies for manufacturers within the DOD supply chain. The breadth of knowledge and expertise needed to embark on such a digital transformation for an organization is immense. Under this program, the the TMAC intends to focus on the deployment of three distinct technologies – Advanced Automation, Industrial Internet of Things and Additive Manufacturing. Installations and Tier 1 manufacturers will benefit from supplier matchmaking services. TMAC’s regional offices and its partners and host institutes will partner to deliver the proposed project activities across these 3 technological areas. Through an understanding of these technologies and its adoption, TMAC expects improve the agility and responsiveness of manufacturers in the DOD supply chain to its future needs. TMAC will complete 12 Awareness Sessions, 20 Technology Assessments, 4 Workshops and 8 Technology deployment projects. Through these events, TMAC will serve more than 75 manufacturers across the state.
