Roosevelt Roads Redevelopment FY23

Abstract

This grant enables the Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) to provide support to the US Navy s environmental remediation process and expedite the completion of the transfer of property. The LRA staff is responsible for the operation, maintenance and administration of the land and facilities of the Naval Station Roosevelt Roads (NSRR), including, but not limited, to security, management and coordination of infrastructure and utilities improvements, administration of piers, management of leases and community relationships. During the grant period, the LRA staff will continue with the supervision and engagement of the redevelopment of infrastructure and development projects. Specifically, the LRA will: 1) oversee the ongoing redevelopment efforts of infrastructure projects (potable water, wastewater, energy, telecommunications, and roads); and 2) continue with its development projects including: (i) execution of agreements for residential, mixed use and hospitality developments; (ii) execution of development and construction agreements for the development and operation of the Marina; (iii)the Waterfront redevelopment, the repurposing of the Port Control building and the Drydock redevelopment and operations; (iv) the Fuel Tank Farm Development and Operation; as well as (v) the ongoing redevelopment efforts and analysis of established tenants in Roosevelt Roads.
