East Central Florida Regional - IR

Abstract

This project integrates critical military resilience concerns into the strategies, plans, and investments of surrounding municipalities to foster, protect, and create a resilient future that considers the unique contributions of east central Florida s military operations. The Project Team will produce, in partnership with key stakeholders, a Military Installation Resilience Review (MIRR) and Implementation Action Plan to enhance readiness and response to both natural and man-made hazards while directly addressing future conditions that require longer term planning, mitigation and investment. This project will be led by East Central Florida Regional Planning Council to grow and leverage strong relationships with Military Commanders, municipal and county governments, economic development organizations, and the State of Florida. The process will utilize previously developed regional tools and plans, best practices, and together with collection and integration of qualitative data will illuminate threats, impacts, and consequences of risks to infrastructure in the study area. This will facilitate knowledge exchange between key stakeholders, increasing the adaptive capacity of the regional installations and adjacent communities to plan for and respond to the impacts of changing conditions. Furthermore, the project team will corrdinate with other regional grants and unified resilience efforts throughout the states regional councils as appropriate.
