Hand in Hand Learning Center Design and Construction NAS Whidbey Island

Abstract

This project replaces the existing facilities at Hand in Hand Learning Center on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on a new site further from the runways at Ault Field. The proposed building, interior spaces, square footages, the playgrounds, and site improvements have been designed based on applicable standards. The project is similar to other new schools in the region. The project incorporates common design features including security fencing, solar power, and collaborative spaces. The school is provided with standard multimedia technology systems including a wireless network, interactive displays, portable audio systems, and audio reinforcement systems. The building construction incorporates noise mitigation and low maintenance, durable materials.
