NSF Indian Head Grant 2

Abstract

The Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland is conducting a Transportation Resiliency Plan in partnership with the Town of Indian Head and Naval Support Facility Indian Head. As Naval Support Facility Indian Head is projecting significant expansion of personnel and manufacturing capabilities over the next several years, transportation and pedestrian safety challenges along the MD Route 210 corridor are anticipated to increase as commuter and sensitive commercial traffic must navigate entry to the installation through an increasingly congested residential and commercial area. The goals of this effort are to conduct a transportation and pedestrian safety analysis, address emergency management procedures within the area of concern, develop a stormwater management plan to address potential increases in impervious surface, and recommend traffic and pedestrian alternatives to implement.
