Miami County Indiana - Diversification
Abstract
The Miami County Economic Development Authority seeks to diversify the economy of the region by planning improvements to the civilian owned portions of Grissom Joint-Use Airfield. By evaluating the current conditions of the existing community owned aircraft parking ramps at Grissom and identifying needed improvements to accommodate increased civil aircraft operations and completing necessary steps with the Federal Aviation Administration to include Grissom in the National Plan of Integrated Airport System the local and regional economies can become less dependent on the defense spending.
