Malmstrom AFB IR 2024

Abstract

This grant allows the City of Great Falls to conduct a two-part study in support of Malmstrom Air Force Base: an installation resilience component and a compatible land use component. The installation resilience component is evaluating existing utility, broadband, and transportation systems and identifying opportunities to make systems more robust. This includes alternate connections for water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, electricity, natural gas, additions to roadway, and broadband networks in order to combat the installation s vulnerability to threats and single points of failure. The goal of this component is to support continuity of essential services for the City of Great Falls and mission assurance for Malmstrom Air Force Base. The compatible land use component is evaluating land uses and zoning of areas in proximity to Malmstrom Air Force Base. This component will make recommendations to facilitate development and growth that benefits both the City of Great Falls and Malmstrom Air Force Base.
