North East Florida Regional Council - IR

Abstract

The Northeast Florida Regional Council, in partnership with key stakeholders, is producing a Military Installation Resilience Review (MIRR) and Implementation Action Plan to enhance readiness and response to both natural and human-made hazards, while directly addressing future conditions that require longer-term planning, mitigation, and investment. This 19-month regional effort leverages cutting-edge local and national expertise to identify and incorporate military installations resilience needs and fully integrate those needs into regional resilience planning. Installations included in this MIRR include: Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS JAX); Naval Station Mayport (NSMP); Camp Blanding Joint Training Facility (CBJTC), a Guard installation; and Blount Island Marine Corps Support Facility (BIMCSF). This project is growing and leveraging strong relationships with Military Commanders, municipal and county governments, economic development organizations, and the State of Florida, utilizing previously developed regional tools and plans, best practices, and qualitative data. In addition, the Northeast Florida Regional Council is conducting an Emergency Response Tabletop Exercise.
